Sapient Dynamics is an applied AI systems company in Raleigh, North Carolina. We design, build, and operate production AI systems for businesses—and we use what we learn to build products and companies.
AI can now write most of the software a business needs, on demand. That makes software less valuable and the judgment around it more valuable: which process to rebuild, how to design the system around the model, how to connect it to the real world, how to keep it running when the data shifts.
That changes the buying decision. For thirty years the answer to a business problem was "find the software and adapt to it." Now a completely custom system, built around how your business actually runs, takes weeks. Businesses should stop adapting themselves to the software that's available and get the software that matches their business.
That judgment is the scarce skill. It's what we sell, and it's why we don't sell software licenses. We deliver a working system, in production, that you own, and we stand behind it.
"Everyone is racing to add AI to what they already have. But that only compresses the distance between signal and result—it doesn't change the result. If you want to change the result, engineer a new intelligent system."
Justin K Schaad · Founder & CEO
Sapient Dynamics is built as a company of companies, not a services shop. The programs put us inside the processes that are broken everywhere. What we learn there becomes products. Products that outgrow us become companies.
Fixed-price engagements for businesses that run on process. Revenue now, and a front-row seat to what's actually broken.
When the same system proves out across customers, we productize it and sell it under its own name.
When a product needs its own team, capital, and name, we spin it out—and keep building.
We run the model that built General Dynamics for defense: a company of serious divisions, each building systems where failure is expensive, each funding the next. Sapient Dynamics is the base.

Justin K Schaad started Sapient Dynamics not as a tech entrepreneur but as a builder. His background is mechanical engineering, construction, and leading real-world teams where decisions matter and context is everything.
He built Struxen, a construction-intelligence platform, inside Sapient Dynamics and spun it out as an independent company. The programs are the same method, applied to other people's processes.
We don't ship demos, decks, or pilots. A program ends with a system in production.
You know what you get, when, and what it costs before we start.
Code, configuration, data. We keep our tools and our know-how; you keep your system.
We don't automate the old process. We rebuild it around what AI can actually do.
Agents propose. People approve. Every action has a record.
When it's running, we're still here. That's what Operate is for.
